Heat pumps look much the way that an outdoor air conditioner looks. There is a tower that takes in the heat. Then there is an air handler, on the air-to-air models, that transfers the heated air through your existing ductwork system. The other models of heat pumps very slightly.
The water source heat pump has pipes that run under the floorboards and provide underfloor heating. This model is also available with radiators, if you like that style better. Then there is the The geothermal heat pump. This can work with either pipes or with ductwork systems.
Whatever style you choose, you can rest assured that your neighbor and HOA will not have anything to complain about. It will simply look as though you have an air conditioner or heater. No one will be able to tell that you have a special heat pump unless you choose to tell them. And admit it, you’re going to want to brag about your energy saving air conditioner. So go ahead and tell them that you don’t just have a regular air conditioner or furnace.
