Why restaurants should have air conditioning

Although I really enjoy dining out, I don’t do it very often.  As a single mom, I can’t really afford an evening out, and I hate to pay for a babysitter.  A couple of weeks ago, a bunch of friends and I got together and splurged. We went to a local sports bar because it’s supposed to have great hamburgers and lots of single men.  When we first stepped inside, we noticed that the music was super loud and the place was really overheated. We assumed that the heat was coming from the kitchen and due to the ovens running.  Once we got seated at our table, we realized that the whole restaurant was overheated. Since this was in the beginning of August, and the weather was hot and humid, they should have had the air conditioning running.  We weren’t sure if the place just didn’t have air conditioning or if the cooling system was broken. When we got our pitcher of cold beer, we drank it down in under ten minutes. We ended up drinking way more than usual.  Although the food was good, and there was plenty of cute guys, the evening was not enjoyable. None of us were interested in flirting when we were sweating like migrant workers. We did end up giving our waiter a huge tip because we felt sorry for him.  The poor guy was working in that overheated restaurant, without air conditioning, and everyone was complaining about it. When we asked him about it, he said that the air conditioner had malfunctioned earlier in the day. Although they had hired an HVAC technician for repair, the cooling system needed to be replaced.
